Best movies of all times

best movies of all time

I’ll be honest, I’m a movie buff and I love spending my time watching movies! I do not discriminate between a blockbuster or a flop, I watch all the movies with the same vigour and passion. Because I believe each movie is made to tell a story, just that the storyteller might have been bad doesn’t mean the story was bad!

This is a small list of the best movies of all time according to me. You don’t have to agree to this list and I do agree there are films which have a stronger script and acting. But these movies have touched my life in one way or the other. If you do have any movies which you think I should watch and I may like or may not like, do leave your comments below. Without further ado, let’s start with the list!

The Shawshank Redemption

Shawshank Redemption

The Shawshank Redemption is one of the movies which you have to watch two times to appreciate the plotline. It’s amazing and you feel the intensity right through the movie.

The Shawshank Redemption is a movie that revolves around Andy Dufrene who is falsely imprisoned(?) for his wife’s murder. In prison, he meets Red(Morgan Freeman) who is Andy’d only friend and helps Andy through his prison life. What happens after is something that you would have to find out!

Schindler’s List

Schindler's List

Schindler’s List is a story based on the Holocaust. Now you might ask me there are many movies on Holocaust then why Schindler’s List? The answer to this lies within the movie itself, you have to watch Schindler’s List to understand its significance in the movie industry. Scenes with no dialogues hit you the hardest.

The movie is based on the world war 2 era where Oskar Schindler is worried about his Jewish workers after he sees the slaughter that German Nazi’s carry all around Germany. Oskar Schindler is shown as a greedy businessman whose heart changes over the course of time. A must watch if you ask me!

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Jack Nicholson outdid himself in this movie. His acting is phenomenal. And if I type more I might blurt out the plotline.

Jack plays RP McMurphy who is sent to a mental asylum after he pleads insanity in court. Once he lands up in the institution he rebels against the lead nurse and gathers other patients for a rebellion! Sounds boring? Watch this and you’ll know what I’m talking about! The twist is at the very end!

Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump is a feel-good movie which won’t make you feel good about it in any way.  This is a story about a man who was always at the right place at the right time, but that never affected who he was. He has a low IQ but he is extremely lucky. The movie teaches you that anyone can love anyone if your heart is at the right place.

12 Angry Men

12 Angry Men

One of the earliest court dramas in Hollywood. The jury has to decide a simple open and shut case but one of the jurors has other ideas. Everyone acts so well in this movie that you can pinpoint at one person and tell that he was the best. The acting is polished and the build-up to the climax is amazing.

Every filmmaker should watch this movie to understand how to make the camera more human and touchy.

That rounds up the first list! I have planned to list out more movies based on categories. If you have any sugestions please drop it in comments!
